A pre-race sample was taken from Gilmer Bale.
Seismic Pete was slow out. Tricky Sort and Dr. Grimaldi collided soon after the start. Seismic Pete checked off the heels of Dr. Grimaldi on the first turn. Sheoak Smokie, Gilmer Bale and Reef Master collided on the first turn checking Sheoak Smokie and Dr. Grimaldi. Tricky Sort crossed to the rail approaching the second turn checking Settlers Run. Gilmer Bale and Settlers Run collided on the third turn checking both greyhounds. Settlers Run and Dr. Grimaldi collided on the home turn.
