GRV will be again implementing Challenger Class events from July with the addition of Advertised Events.
Current Tier 3-time standards will be utilised with an additional 0.20s of a second added to create the Challenger time standards.
To be eligible for a Challenger Class Race Event, a greyhound must be Grade 5, with a ranking of 250 or higher and not have broken the Challenger standard in the past four starts (Sliding Scale does not apply)
The Graders will eliminate greyhounds that are not eligible at the time of grading with only eligible greyhounds to be drawn.
Challenger Class Advertised Events have been added to a regular Rank Limit meeting and will be given preference before any other races are programmed.
The two meetings for July are as follows:
Ballarat (Twilight) – Tuesday 8th July
Tier 3 Grade 5 390m
Tier 3 Grade 5 450m
Tier 3 Grade 5 545m
Warragul (Twilight) – Thursday 24th July
Tier 3 Grade 5 400m
Tier 3 Grade 5 460m
To be considered trainers must nominate for the Advertised Events listed on the program.

GRV is currently upgrading to a digital-focused lifecycle tracking system for greyhounds.
As part of this project, participants will be reminded to update FastTrack records for some of the greyhounds they own.
In the next week, if you own any greyhounds that have been inactive for an extended period, GRV will prompt you to update your FastTrack records. If your records are correct, you can disregard the email.
If you have any questions or require assistance, please contact Participant Services via email at info@grv.org.au.
Public access to the FastTrack portal presents some information, on greyhounds available for racing, to users not registered with GRV as greyhound racing participants. Greyhounds not available for racing are displayed as "Retired". Full retirement details are available to GRV and will be summarised in GRV's Annual Report.
FastTrack delivers all greyhound racing needs by providing online access to all the existing services for you as an industry participant including the following:
FastTrack will allow you to access your account 24 hours a day, 7 days a week online.
A FastTrack account allows you to:
