Steward's Report
Paw Janika – Late scratching at 7.36am when Trainer - Mr. R. Camilleri reported the greyhound was injured (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
Masseter - Under the provisions of GAR 100(1), the Stewards deemed the greyhound's weight to have been incorrectly recorded as 24.7kg at kennelling. Masseter's weight was amended to 25.7kg.
Made Up Stories was quick to begin. Reiko Benny and Paw Savoy were slow to begin.
Why Not Ava (lost ground approaching the finishing line) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right sartorius muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Leigh Carter regarding the racing manners of Why Not Ava. After hearing submissions from Mr. Carter, viewing the available race footage and taking into account the injury sustained, Stewards took no further action.
A post-race urine sample was taken from Made Up Stories - winner of the event.
There was no Isolynx available for this event.
It was noted that Race 2 was inadvertently semaphored for this event.
