Steward's Report

Swordman was a late scratching at 11.25am due to non arrival. Stewards inquired into the matter and subsequently charged trainer, Mr. W. McMahon, with breach of GAR 125(o) in that he negligently failed to present the greyhound Swordman for the purposes of competing in the Event. Mr. McMahon pleaded guilty to the charge. Stewards subsequently found Mr. McMahon guilty as charged and fined him the sum of $100.00. Our Girl Paris was slow out and crossed to the rail soon after the start. Coalition and Smiling Boy collided soon after the start. Coalition checked off the heels of Smiling Boy approaching the first turn and stumbled as a result. Never Say and Shari Bale raced wide in the back straight. Mr Wiggy and Never Say collided approaching the home turn. Smiling Boy was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards spoke to Mr B. Duffy, Trainer of Smiling Boy. Stewards deemed the performance of Smiling Boy unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 101, Stewards directed that Smiling Boy must perform a Satisfactory Trial, All Tracks, before any future nomination will be accepted. Shari Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the left hind, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
