A pre-race sample was taken from Highway Man.
Elusive Bec and Powder Burn collided soon after the start. Take A Daisy, Flash Opal and Panadero Grace collided soon after the start checking Panadero Grace. Take A Daisy and Raquea's Dream collided approaching the first turn checking Take A Daisy which faltered. Powder Burn checked off Elusive Bec on the first turn. Flash Opal contacted the running rail on the first turn severely checking Flash Opal. Panadero Grace and Flash Opal collided on the home turn.
Flash Opal underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left shoulder injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
