Blackpool Cruz galloped on the heels of Violation on the first turn severely checking Violation and Blackpool Cruz causing Blackpool Cruz to fall. Baggy's Gold galloped on the heels of Hurricane Girl on the first turn checking Chill Out Dusty and Cloncurry Girl, severely checking Baggy's Gold and Hurricane Pete. Violation and Hurricane Pete collided approaching the home turn.
Blackpool Cruz underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left elbow injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
