Steward's Report
Mt. View Ginger and Bermuda were quick to begin.
Grand Warrior and Kandinsky collided on the first turn checking Grand Warrior.which stumbled. Bermuda and Naha collided on the home turn checking Bermuda. Southern Thunder and Bermuda collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Mt. View Ginger and Naha collided in the home straight checking Mt. View Ginger. Kandinsky and Naha collided in the home straight checking Naha and Mt. View Ginger. Kandinsky visibly eased approaching the winning post.
Kandinsky underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hind leg. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Ms. Andrea Gurry regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Kandinsky was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Gurry pleaded guilty to the charge, Kandinsky was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
