Steward's Report
All persons attending the venue today carried face-masks, observed social distance requirements and maintained room density quotients for the race meeting.
Saint Jobe was very slow to begin (3 lengths).
Stalking Shadow checked off Call Me Jade approaching the first turn. Saint Jobe checked off Call Me Jade on the first turn. Stalking Shadow checked off Mt. View Moon on the home turn. Darley Lass galloped on Stalking Shadow on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Darley Lass and Stalking Shadow collided entering the home straight checking Darley Lass. Saint Jobe marred Call Me Jade in the home straight.
Saint Jobe underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle, left triangle injuries and a spike wound to the right hind leg. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Peter Byrne, the trainer regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Saint Jobe was charged with marring. Mr. Byrne pleaded guilty to the charge, Saint Jobe was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnabool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
