Steward's Report
Big Alfie was slow to begin.
Zed Bale and Zanfrey Bale collided soon after the start. Skating Queen and Zed Bale collided soon after the start checking Zed Bale. Zed Bale and Skating Queen collided approaching the first turn. Zanfrey Bale galloped on Nino's Girl approaching the first turn. Zed Bale, Skating Queen, Nino's Girl, Zanfrey Bale and Big Alfie collided on the first turn checking Nino's Girl and Zanfrey Bale severely checking Skating Queen and Zed Bale causing both greyhounds to fall. Zanfrey Bale pulled up soon after. Shima Tune faltered entering the home straight.
Shima Tune underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Zed Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right humerus fracture. Zed Bale was humanely euthanased.
Skating Queen underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg wrist injury and a lumbar-sacral injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Zanfrey Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a thoraco-lumbar injury and a left hindleg triangle muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards invoked GAR71 on Zanfrey Bale and have directed the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination be accepted. In determining penalty on the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn, Stewards took into consideration the interference involving several greyhounds at that point of the race.
