Steward's Report
Wolf Shadow was quick to begin. Leo's My Champ was very slow to begin (4L).
Blazin' Jewel, Hey Vain Elaine and Mt. View Dodger collided soon after the start checking Hey Vain Elaine. Big Buck and Leo's My Champ collided approaching the first turn checking Big Buck. Hey Vain Elaine checked off Big Buck on the first turn. Big Buck and Blazin' Jewel collided on the first turn. Blazin' Jewel and Hey Vain Elaine collided on the first turn checking Hey Vain Elaine.
Mt. View Dodger underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to left forearm and right hind webbing. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to the trainer of Leo's My Champ, Ms K. Thorburn regarding the greyhound's manners upon pulling up near where the finish on lure stops. Acting in accordance with GAR 71(A)(1)(d) Stewards ordered the greyhound to perform a satisfactory trial before any future nominations are accepted. Leo's My Champ must also wear an anti-aggression muzzle in future events in accordance with GAR 71(A)(1)(a).
Stewards spoke to the trainer of Mt. View Dodger, Mr T. Whitford regarding his behaviour when collecting his greyhound from the finish on lure. Stewards spoke to a number of parties in relation to the incident, and after taking into account all the evidence, Stewards issued Mr Whitford with a warning regarding his language.
