Steward's Report
All Staff & Participants attending the race-meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the Kennel Block and Associated Buildings and when engaged in the exclusive race-day functions of handling, boxing, starting & catching greyhounds.
An out of competition sample was taken from Brilliant Brian on 14th January 2021. pursuant to GAR 79A.
A pre-race sample was taken from All Mayhem.
Roxy Vodka was quick to begin. Brilliant Brian was slow to begin.
Lala Eucalyptus and Roxy Vodka collided approaching the first turn. Patons Road veered out and marred Lala Eucalyptus approaching the home turn severely checking Lala Eucalyptus and All Mayhem and causing Roxy Vodka to fall. Patons Road and Lala Eucalyptus collided entering the home straight.
Roxy Vodka underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Patons Road underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr P. Bartlett, the representative of Patons Road regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Patons Road was charged with marring. Mr P. Bartlett, pleaded guilty to the charge, Patons Road was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
