Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Scott Finesse.

Fawn Nova and Carry On Elvis were slow to begin and collided soon after the start, checking Fawn Nova, and severely checking Carry On Elvis which stumbled and lost ground.  Scott Finesse, Scott It and Fascinated collided approaching the first turn, checking Scott It and Fascinated.  Scott It and China Catch 'Em collided approaching the home turn, checking China Catch 'Em.  Fawn Nova and China Catch 'Em collided on the home turn.  Scott It and Scott Finesse collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight, checking Scott It.  China Catch 'Em checked off Scott It in the home straight.  Fascinated and Fawn Nova collided approaching the winning post, checking Fascinated.

Carry On Elvis was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the left foreleg, left hindleg and right hindleg.  No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to handler, Mr William Hartigan, regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Carry On Elvis.  Stewards directed that Carry On Elvis be boxed first in future events.
