Barkin' Bekim was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right foreleg nail injury, a three day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr Pieter Smoor, the trainer of the greyhound Barkin' Bekim.  Stewards deemed the performance of Barkin' Bekim unsatisfactory approaching the home turn and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Barkin' Bekim must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Summer Skye.

The numbers 2, 8, 3 and 4 appeared on the semaphore board, before being corrected by the Judge to 2, 8, 3 and 7, all clear was then notified.

Lektra Viki was quick to begin.  Why Not Dean was slow to begin.  All Inn Bluebell crossed to the inside soon after the start, checking Con Rod, Tye Me Chopper and Macarthur Road.  Tye Me Chopper checked off All Inn Bluebell approaching the first turn.  Tye Me Chopper, Con Rod and Sacred Miss collided on the first turn, checking Con Rod, Sacred Miss and Why Not Dean; Why Not Dean raced as a result.  Con Rod checked off Macarthur Road on the home turn.

Carry On Elvis was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the left foreleg, left hindleg and right hindleg.  No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to handler, Mr William Hartigan, regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Carry On Elvis.  Stewards directed that Carry On Elvis be boxed first in future events.

Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Garry Selkrig regarding the direction that the greyhound Speedy Ryder be boxed first.  Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.

Starbright Vic was slow to begin.  Back On Lava and True Colours collided soon after the start, checking Back On Lava.  Cosmic Polly and Landon collided approaching the first turn, checking Landon.  Landon and Must Have collided on the first turn, checking Must Have.  Lektra Stomp and Cosmic Polly collided approaching the home turn, checking Cosmic Polly.  Back On Lava checked off Must Have on the home turn.  Cosmic Polly and Landon collided on the home turn.  True Colours and Landon collided in the home straight.  Starbright Vic checked off Must Have in the home straight.  Starbright Vic checked off Back On Lava in the home straight.

All clear for this event was delayed to allow Stewards to view official race footage of the start after it appeared that the greyhounds were in the boxes for a length of time before the lure commenced to move.  Stewards took evidence from Lure Driver, Mr Robert Hamilton, who stated that he had difficulty seeing the green light at the boxes because of the sunny conditions.  As Stewards were of the opinion that no greyhounds were affected at the start, all clear was notified.

All Inn Baz was slow to begin.  Pyrenees Inferno and Lektra Menzel collided soon after the start, checking Lektra Menzel.  Robo's A Flyer and Rancette collided soon after the start, checking Robo's A Flyer.  Lektra Menzel checked off Robo's A Flyer on the first turn.  Rancette checked off Pyrenees Inferno approaching the home turn.  Robo's A Flyer checked off Rancette on the home turn.  Rancette and Pyrenees Inferno collided in the home straight.  Rancette, Pyrenees Inferno and Avatar Vixen collided approaching the winning post, checking Pyrenees Inferno and Rancette.

A post-race sample was unable to be obtained from All Inn Baz, a post-race blood sample was subsequently taken.

Destini Radar was a late scratching at 6:49 pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to injury.  A seven day stand down period was imposed.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Scott Muscle and no illness was detected.  The greyhound was a late scratching at 3:28 pm, due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr Lachlan Scott was fined the sum of $100.

A pre-race sample was taken from All Inn Youi.

Telefork was slow to begin.  Swift Ruby checked off Scanez Jewel approaching the first turn.  All Inn Youi checked off Tayla's Banjo on the first turn and collided with Bound After Gold, checking All Inn Youi, Bound After Gold and Scanez Jewel.  Scanez Jewel and Swift Ruby collided in the home straight, checking Swift Ruby.

Full Of Boloney and Lektra Guiseppe were slow to begin.  Drysdale Doll, Fiery Melody and Remain Seated collided approaching the first turn, checking Fiery Melody and Remain Seated.  Drysdale Doll checked off Ah Sugar Sugar on the first turn.  Fiery Melody checked off Remain Seated on the first turn and collided with Lektra Guiseppe.  Full Of Boloney and Remain Seated collided on the home turn.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Robert Martin, the trainer of Tye Me Over, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Tye Me Over last raced on 6 April 2017.  Mr Martin stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being seasonal.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Tye Me Over trialled over the 410m from box one, weight 27.9 kgs, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 23:90, the greyhound won by a margin of one length.  Tye Me Over was Cleared.
