Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 23.8 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.5 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Stewards interviewed trainer Mr Patrick Newell in relation to the bona fides of the withdrawal of Steeple from this race. Stewards noted his comments.
The start was delayed by approximately 2 minutes due to operational activities.
Lainey Jane and Ace Chaser were quick to begin. Hit The Button was slow to begin.
Chief Kaiser underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Chief Kaiser – Turned in the boxes, took no competitive part in the race and was placed on a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 106(1) and pursuant to GAR 132.
