Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. J Jarkis, trainer of Crafty Diamond regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Crafty Diamond last raced on the 15th June 2015. Mr Jarkis stated that Crafty Diamond was returning to race after suffering a hock injury.
Light Feathers was quick to begin. Speaker City checked off Fabstar soon after the start. California Club and Crafty Diamond collided at the 300 metre mark checking California Club. Doobstar and Light Feathers collided at the 250 metre mark checking Light Feathers. California Club and Crafty Diamond collided at the 200 metre mark. Speaker City checked off Bondi Buddy at the 150 metre mark. Speaker City faltered at the 100 metre mark and lost ground as a result.
Speaker City was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 7, it was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its neck and lower back. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Craig, the handler of the greyhound Speaker City. Stewards deemed the performance of Speaker City unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Speaker City must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) befor any future nomination will be accepted.
