Top Sheriff was a late scratching at 6.20pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to illness. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Cambridge Bale was quick to begin. Secret Garden was slow to begin. Samiotisa crossed to the inside soon after the start checking Lisbin and Fly Walcott. Cambridge Bale checked off Samiotisa on the first turn checking Burcov Caviar. Lisbin and Fly Walcott collided approaching the home turn and again entering the home straight. Samiotisa eased approaching the winning post. Samiotisa was vetted and revetted following event 2. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Acting under GAR 69(1)(b) stewards charged Samiotisa with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment and suspended the greyhound for 28 days at Geelong and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial all Tracks, pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted. A sample was taken from Secret Garden - the winner of the event.
