A pre-race sample was taken from Marlena's Vin (6th).
Ashigga Express, Hi Fi's Image, Seabrook Slayer and Regal Bart were slow out. Seabrook Slayer and Regal Bart collided soon after the start. Hi Fi's Image checked off the heels of Rafferty Bale approaching the first turn. Hi Fi's Image and Cosmic Intent collided on the first turn. Ashigga Express and Seabrook Slayer collided on the first turn. Marlena's Vin and Regal Bart collided on the third turn, checking Marlena's Vin.
Hi Fi's Image was vetted following the Event. Dr. Michael Bell, the club's veterinary surgeon, reported that the greyhound had sustained a fracture to the right hock. Acting on a recommendation from Dr. Bell, the Stewards will stand Hi Fi's Image down from competing for 30 days.
