Steward's Report

Larry Digman was quick to begin. Buck Stops Here and Shore Train were slow to begin.

Dylis Bale checked off Token Ali approaching the first turn. Buck Stops Here galloped on the heels of Token Ali on the first turn severely checking Buck Stops Here and Shore Train. Buck Stops Here fell as a result. Larry Digman and Libray Queen collided on the home turn.

Buck Stops Here was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Canny Catch It - the winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to registered handler Miss K. Smith and reminded her of her responsibilities in regards to her tardiness in boxing the greyhound Shore Train in this event.

Stewards spoke to registered trainer Mr. C. Mizzi, regarding the improved performance of the greyhound Canny Catch It. Mr. Mizzi stated that the greyhound had been ill and had been treated with antibiotics.  The greyhound had been trialling well and was able to lead and maintain the lead without any interference. Stewards noted his explanation and took a post race sample from the greyhound.
