New Guinea Gold was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right thigh and minor skin abrasions. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Mr. Mizzi stated that the greyhound had been ill and had been treated with antibiotics.  The greyhound had been trialling well and was able to lead and maintain the lead without any interference.
