Steward's Report
Parhelion was very slow to begin (4 lengths).
Smithy's Girl and Watershed Miss collided soon after the start checking Smithy's Girl. Heffner crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Blue Dress Devil, Herodium, Watershed Miss and Smithy's Girl. Parhelion clipped the heels of Watershed Miss on the first turn causing Parhelion to stumble. Parhelion checked off Watershed Miss approaching the home turn checking Blue Dress Devil which collided with Smithy's Girl severely checking Smithy's Girl as a result. First Print checked off Watershed Miss entering the home straight causing First Print to race wide. Blue Dress Devil raced wide in the home straight.
Smithy's Girl was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left thigh. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Ashton, registered trainer, regarding his failure to catch the greyhound Herodium in this event. Stewards reminded Mr. Ashton of his responsibilities in regards to catching commitments.
