Pumpkin Pete – New declared weight of 32.5 kg, last raced at 31.0 kg.

Throttle Open and Pumpkin Pete were slow to begin.

Throttle Open and White Nikita collided approaching the first turn.  Maximum Ang checked off Jean Crisp on the first turn; checking Formosa's Boy; severely checking Pumpkin Pete.  Flick's Dilemma and Jean Crisp collided approaching the home turn; checking Flick's Dilemma.  Throttle Open and White Nikita collided on the home turn and entering the home straight.  Pumpkin Pete turned its head inwards entering the home straight and collided with White Nikita.

Pumpkin Pete underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race three.  Pumpkin Pete was found to have right foreleg monkey and deltoid muscle injuries.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr William Robertson regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B(1), Pumpkin Pete was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Robertson  pleaded guilty to the charge, Pumpkin Pete was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B(1) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

White Nikita underwent a post–race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have spike wounds to the right hindleg toes.  A five day stand down period was imposed.
