Lightning Loki crossed to the rail soon after the start; checking Lektra Asha, Orson Gift and Who Knows Chloe. Who Knows Chloe and Lightning Loki collided approaching the first turn. Mad Coco checked off Bugs approaching the first turn. Mad Coco, Lektra Asha and Orson Gift collided on the first turn; checking Lektra Asha and Orson Gift; causing Orson Gift to fall. Texicali Skull raced wide approaching the home turn. Bugs and Blazing Rocks collided approaching the home turn; checking Blazing Rocks. Lektra Asha checked off Lightning Loki entering the home straight.
Orson Gift underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have right foreleg toe, right and left foreleg monkey muscle injuries. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
