There was no head-on vision available for this race.
Cloud Raiser, Millie's Wonder and Shady Andy were quick to begin.
Cloud Raiser and Bourne Maximum collided on the first turn; checking Bourne Maximum and Millie's Wonder; severely checking Shady Andy. Mt. View Entry galloped on the heels of Joe Baker approaching the home turn; checking both greyhounds. Aston Bandit and Mt. View Ginger collided approaching the home turn.
Shady Andy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the nose. No stand down period was imposed.
