Banjo Jax checked off Jump Into Action soon after the start causing Banjo Jax to stumble and lose ground. Westar Carrie and Mepunga Force collided approaching the first turn. Iolar and Russia With Love collided approaching the first turn. Mepunga Force checked off Iolar approaching the home turn. causing Mepunga Force and Post Office Girl to collide. Mepunga Force contacted the running rail and fell as a result checking Westar Carrie and Banjo Jax.
Mepunga Force underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right and left radius/ulna fracture. Mepunnga Force was humanely euthanased.
Banjo Jax underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left and right foreleg wrist injury and a right foreleg shoulder injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
