Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Andy Time.
Fireball Frank, Orya Bale and Bush Blossom collided approaching the first turn, checking Orya Bale. Inga Ollie, Spun Out and Andy Time collided on the first turn, checking Spun Out which lost ground. Spun Out and Katathani Kid collided approaching the home turn, checking Spun Out. Fireball Frank and Katathani Kid collided on the home turn. Fireball Frank visibly eased entering the home straight. Fireball Frank, Bush Blossom and Andy Time collided in the home straight. Fireball Frank marred Bush Blosssom in the home straight. Andy Time galloped on the heels of Bush Blossom and fell as a result approaching the winning post.
Fireball Frank underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hind triangle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.Stewards spoke to the trainer, Mr. D Bate regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Fireball Frank was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr D. Bate pleaded guilty to the charge, Fireball Frank was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Andy Time underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the right foot. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
