Frothy's Jett was quick to begin. Dash Home was slow to begin.
Joffa's Liberty and Sinful Angel collided approaching the first turn. Frothy's Jett, Joffa's Liberty and Sinful Angel collided on the first turn. Frothy's Jett checked off the heels of Sinful Angel on the first turn; Frothy's Jett shifted out and collided with Gone Cranky as a result. Dash Home and Blue Cherry Miss collided on the first turn, checking Blue Cherry Miss. Odessa Rock shifted out and raced wide on the first turn. Frangipani Bay galloped on the heels of Joffa's Liberty on the first turn; both greyhounds lost ground as a result. Frothy's Jett and Dash Home collided approaching the home turn. Frothy's Jett checked off Gone Cranky approaching the home turn. Frothy's Jett visably eased approaching the winning post.
Frothy's Jett underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race five. Frothy's Jett was found to have a right foreleg monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Mr G Julian regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Frothy's Jett was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Julian pleaded not guilty to the charge, Frothy's Jett was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
