A pre-race sample was taken from Nifty Nelly.
Patricia Maureen was quick to begin. She's A Charm was slow to begin. Zipping Whoopi was checked off She's A Charm approaching the first turn, Zipping Whoopi lost ground as a result. Nifty Nelly, Whistling Bullet, Hook Along Book and Pyrocumulus collided on the first turn checking Nifty Nelly and Whistling Bullet. Whistling Bullet and Pyrocumulus collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds. Whistling Bullet and Pyrocumulus collided in the home straight checking Whistling Bullet. She's A Charm raced wide in the home straight.
Zipping Whoopie underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left chest muscle. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Sonneman regarding the undue delay in boxing She's A Charm in this event. Stewards accepted Mr. Sonneman's explanation and took no further action.
