Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance withGAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to andcontinue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6,followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Chop Scotch and Westar Misty collided approaching the first turn. Red Mahogany and Sherwood Bale collided approaching the first turn. Chop Scotch and Red Mahogany collided approaching the home turn. Rothwell Prince checked off Spearhead Joe entering the home straight. Sherwood Bale checked off Chop Scotch entering the home straight. Chop Scotch and Sherwood Bale collided in the home straight. Rothwell Prince visible eased and turned its head inwards towards Spearhead Joe in the home straight. Westar Misty and Spearhead Joe collided approaching the winning post. 

Rothwell Prince underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg triangle muscle injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Brett Nye, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Rothwell Prince was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Nye pleaded guilty to the charge, Rothwell Prince must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Two Face was quick to begin. Little Bertha was slow to begin.

Saint Mac, Kihikihi Star, Duck Duck Dash and Heidi's Gift collided soon after the start. Two Face and She's So Cute collided soon after the start. Little Bertha crossed to the rail approaching the first turn and collided with Kihikihi Star checking Kihikihi Star and Saint Mac. Crumb Snags and She's So Cute collided on the first turn. Heidi's Gift checked off Duck Duck Dash approaching the home turn. Crumb Snags and Two Face collided on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Handler - Mr. M Delbridge regarding the racing manners of Heidi's Gift in the home straight.  After hearing evidence from Mr. Delbridge, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.

Heidi's Gift underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the Trainer’s request following the running of Event 10.  Heidi's Gift was found to have a left hock dislocation.  A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Innocent Diva, Aston Maximus and Tinker Dazz collided approaching the home turn checking all three greyhounds. Mepunga Missile, Rollo Ragnar, Ledgerwood Libby and Bodhi’s Bro Kai collided soon after the start checking Bodhi’s Bro Kai severely checking Ledgerwood Libby. Spring Haze and Mepunga Missile collided approaching the first turn. Rollo Ragnar and Aston Gates collided approaching the first turn. Typhoon Bolt, Spring Haze and Mepunga Missile collided on the first turn checking Typhoon Bolt. Rollo Ragnar and Rothwell Gal collided approaching the home turn. Aston Gates and Rothwell Gal collided approaching the home turn. Typhoon Bolt and Rollo Ragnar collided entering the home straight.

Fergusta Bale, Kudos Bale and Brad Keeping collided soon after the start. Ezra Bale and Unwanted Lady collided approaching the first turn checking Unwanted Lady. Unwanted Lady, Fergusta Bale, Kudos Bale and Zekel Bale collided on the first turn checking Unwanted Lady. Ezra Bale and Zipping Walter collided on the first turn. Kudos Bale and Unwanted Lady collided in the home straight. Zekel Bale and Unwanted Lady collided approaching the winning post. Kudos Bale and Fergusta Bale collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards noted that licensed Trainer - Mr. Tom Dailly  incorrectly placed greyhound "Brad Keeping" in Box 6 instead of its drawn Box No 7.  The correction was subsequently made prior to the running of the Event.  Stewards withheld the "all clear" to review the official video footage to ensure that the greyhounds in the front row had not been disadvantaged by the delay in changeover.  Stewards were of the opinion that the front row had not been disadvantaged and "all clear" was given on the placings 2-3-1-8.  Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr. T. Dailly in relation to the matter and after considering all the evidence, fined Mr. T. Dailly the sum of $200 for negligence pursuant to GAR86(o).  Stewards also spoke to the GGRC Starter and reminded him of his responsibilities to ensure that greyhounds are placed in the correct starting boxes at all times.

Brute was very slow to begin (3L).

Mepunga Spectre checked off Voltage Spike soon after the start. Midnight Force and Voltage Spike collided approaching the first turn. Magic Will and Mahogany Jet collided approaching the first turn checking Magic Will. Midnight Force checked off Mepunga Spectre approaching the home turn. Mahogany Jet and Suvla Bay collided in the home straight. Brute checked off Suvla Bay in the home straight causing Brute and Suvla Bay to collide.

During the running of this Event, Stewards established that the GGRC Track Staff Official had not closed the tractor gate.  Stewards reminded the Official of his responsibilities to ensure that the gate is closed prior to the start of all races.

 Lil Snooze and Mighty Marshall were quick to begin. Rainbow Wish was slow to begin.

Chops Malone crossed to the rail soon after the start causing Magnis Bale, Crown Ella and Floppy Joe to collide checking Floppy Joe and Barcia Prince. Crown Ella and Floppy Joe collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Barcia Prince checked off Magnis Bale approaching the home turn. Lil Snooze checked off Mighty Marshall approaching the home turn. Magnis Bale and Rainbow Wish collided approaching the home turn and again in the home straight.

Gino Gambino, Molly Byrnes, La La Lucky and Chopper Bale collided approaching the first turn. Gino Gambino, Molly Byrnes and La La Lucky collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds. Speedy Lemon and Pumpernickel collided on the first turn checking Pumpernickel. Chopper Bale, Speedy Lemon and Secret Package collided approaching the home turn. By Your Side visiblly eased entering the home straight checking Speedy Lemon.

Spring Typhoon underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
