Steward's Report
Fallen Petal and Airly Liberty were slow to begin. Hayley Hook and Ricky Racoon collided approaching the first turn. Ricky Racoon and Rizzo collided on the first turn. Hurricane Pete and Airly Liberty collided on the first turn. Airly Liberty visibly eased approaching the home turn severely checking Hurricane Pete and Double Eclipse causing Hurricane Pete and Double Eclipse to race wide. Double Eclipse, Hurricane Pete and Hayley Hook collided on the home turn severely checking Hurricane Pete and Double Eclipse. Hurricane Pete galloped on Double Eclipse on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Airly Liberty and Hayley Hook collided on the home turn. Ricky Racoon turned its head outwards on the home turn and crossed out severely checking Hayley Hook. Airly Liberty and Hayley Hook collided in the home straight. Hurricane Pete and Double Eclipse raced wide in the home straight.
Airly Liberty underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left pencil muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms. J. Holden the trainer of Airly Liberty regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Airly Liberty was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due committment. Ms. Holden pleaded guilty to the charge, Airly Liberty is suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Ricky Racoon underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left thigh muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. R. Whitford regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Ricky Racoon was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Whitford pleaded guilty to the charge, Ricky Racoon must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
