Steward's Report
Blue Striker and Iylee Bale were slow to begin. Gin Lee's Dream was very slow to begin (3 lengths).
Simon Told Helen and Revelation collided soon after the start. Iylee Bale and Simon Told Helen. Hasten Slowly and Tiggerlong Tonk collided on the first turn. Iylee Bale checked off Revelation on the second turn checking Hasten Slowly. Blue Striker and Simon Told Helen collided on the third turn checking Simon Told Helen. Tiggerlong Tonk checked off Simon Told Helen on the home turn severely checking Hasten Slowly. Blue Striker and Driftin' Away collided on the home turn checking Driftin' Away.
Gin Lee's Dream underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right wrist sprains. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to the trainer of Gin Lee's Dream, Mr J. Van-konynenburg regarding the greyhound's performance tonight, and the subsequent injury found. Stewards also inquired in the similarity of the performance and subsequent injury to the greyhound's race starts at Sandown on the 22nd of August, and Healesville on the 22nd of September. Mr J. Van-konynenburg stated that had been concerned regarding the greyhound's ongoing wrist injury and will present the Gin Lee's Dream to Dr Des Fagan tomorrow morning for x-rays. Stewards ordered Mr J. Van-konynenburg to present the result of the x-ray and complete veterinary certificate of clearance, before any future nomination for the greyhound is accepted in accordance with GAR 71 (2).
A post-race sample was taken from Blue Striker - winner of the event.
