Steward's Report

A pre-race sample was taken from Tamou Bale.

Max Cobra, Tamou Bale, My Ripper Gogo and Aston Meilleur were slow to begin.  Tamou Bale, My Ripper Gogo and Dundee Spectre collided soon after the start checking Tamou Bale and My Ripper Gogo.  Max Cobra and My Ripper Gogo collided approaching the first turn checking Max Cobra.  My Ripper Gogo was checked off Bigwig on the first turn.  Tamou Bale and My Ripper Gogo collided on the first turn.  Max Cobra and My Ripper Gogo collided on the home turn.  Max Cobra turned its head and visibly eased entering the home straight and again in the home straight checking My Ripper Gogo.

Stewards noted following the event the muzzle of Dundee Spectre was wedged in its teeth and the greyhound was vetted as a result, no apparent injury was reported.

Max Cobra underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.

Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Weeks the trainer of Max Cobra regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight and in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Max Cobra was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Weeks pleaded not guilty to the charge, Max Cobra was found guilty and suspended for 12 months at all tracks and must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(c) before any future nomination will be accepted.
