Little Bala – Not raced for in excess of 3 months and is returning to racing from a spell.
Little Bala and Krypto Jam collided soon after the start. Early Spring, Data Star and Banjo Sally collided soon after the start checking Data Star. looking Down, Early Spring and Banjo sally collided on the first turn checking Early Spring and Banjo Sally. Little Bala checked off Enchanting Image approaching the home turn. Little Bala and Krypto Jam collided approaching the home turn checking Little Bala. Little Bala and Looking Down collided approaching the home turn checking Little Bala and Early Spring. Banjo Sally failed to pursue the lure with due commitment approaching the winning post.
Little Bala underwent a post-race veterinary examination after falling past the winning post and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Banjo Sally underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected.
Stewards spoke to Ms L. Repici, the trainer of Banjo Sally regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Banjo Sally was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Repici pleaded guilty to the charge, Banjo Sally is suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
