Alfie Mikado, Tim Tam Sam, One Thrill and Tanjil Ace collided soon after the start.  One Thrill and Tanjil Ace collided approaching the first turn checking Tanjil Ace which stumbled as a result.  Liam Roxon, Raven Rich and One Thrill collided on the first turn checking Liam Roxon.  Tim Tam Sam galloped on Alfie Mikado on the first turn checking Alfie Mikado.  Tim Tam Sam checked off Tanjil Ace on the home turn.  Alfie Mikado raced wide entering the home straight.  Liam Roxon, Raven Rich and Tanjil Ace collided in the home straight.

Mrs M. Barber the representative of Alfie Mikado requested that the greyhound be vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion inside the right tibia, no stand down period was imposed.

Inter Joe was a late scratching at 11:53am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr J. Interligi was fined the sum of $100.

St. Leo and Blueflash Lenny were slow to begin.

Blueflash Lenny checked off Hurricane Craig soon after the start.  St. Leo and Hurricane Craig collided approaching the first turn.  St. Leo and Blueflash Lenny collided on the home turn.

Cloncurry Girl was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hind foot, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Hurricane Billie was slow to begin.  Aston Klara was very slow to begin (3 1/2 lengths).

Rojo Ollie and Spectator collided on the first turn.  My Girl Chezza and Hurricane Billie collided in the home straight checking My Girl Chezza.  

My Girl Chezza was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right wrist sprain, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Courage Crest, Voluptuous Blue and Architecture were slow to begin.

Courage Crest, Mel's Footsteps, Voluptuous Blue, Bolare collided soon after the start checking Mel's Footsteps.  Campeon. Voluptuous Dot and Banjo Sally collided on the first turn checking Voluptuous Dot and Banjo Sally.  Courage Crest, Banjo Sally and Mel's Footsteps collided approaching the home turn checking Courage Crest and Mel's Footsteps.  Architecture and Bolare collided in the home straight.

Mr B. Moles, trainer of Viewing declared a new weight of 31.1kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Viewing last raced at 32.5kgs.

A pre-race sample was taken from Busta Mikado.

Pilot Pete, Busta Mikado and Bear Cabang collided on the first turn checking Busta Mikado.  Racey Rose and Busta Mikado collided approaching the home turn checking Busta Mikado.  Zipping Storm failed to pursue the lure with due commitment approaching the winning post.

Zipping Storm was vetted and re-vetted following event 12.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr S. Mallia, the trainer of Zipping Storm regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Zipping Storm was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Manllia pleaded guilty to the charge, Zipping Storm is suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Mandela Sun was a late scratching at 10.35am due to the Trainer Mr Phillip Pollutro, being suspended at an RADB hearing earlier this morning, that took immediate effect. Mandela Sun was withdrawn by order of Stewards (Non-Penalty).

Stewards spoke to Mrs B. Proctor, the representative of Fairy Where regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Fairy Where last raced on 19 November 2018 and is returning from a spell. Mrs Proctor also declared a new weight of 28.4kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Fairy Where last raced at 27.3kgs.

Stewards spoke to Mr J. Formosa, the representative of Sassy Slyder regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Sassy Slyder last raced on 4 October 2018 and is returning from a spell.

Sassy Slyder - Late scratching at 3.55pm on the advice of the On - Track Veterinarian due to illness. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Beast was slow to begin.

Beast faltered approaching the first turn and subsequentially tailed off.  Meehan Deano, Aladdin Prince and Fairy Where collided on the first turn checking Fairy Where.

Beast was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right back muscle, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

MEETING COMMENTS:

The following Greyhounds performed a Stewards Satisfactory Trial – The trial took place over 400mtrs with 3 required to trial. The winning time of trial was 23.14:

Blue Irish finished 1st, Little Tacka finished 2nd, Bees On Fire finished 3rd.

Bees On Fire – Was stood down from racing at Healesville for failing to chase. Weighing 34.2kgs and beginning from box 1, beaten by a neck. Bees On Fire has been cleared to race at all tracks.

Little Tacka – Performed a Stewards Satisfactory and Weight trial as the greyhound has not competed in an event for in excess of six months due to a spell.  Weighing 38.7kgs and beginning from box 2, beaten by a head. Little Tacka has been cleared to race at all tracks.

Blue Irish – Was stood down from racing at Warragul for failing to chase. Weighing 36.7kgs and beginning from box 4, winning by a head. Blue Irish has been cleared to race at all tracks.
