Steward's Report
Porscha's Girl was quick to begin.
Mrs. Jawa, Brindle Ninja and Gee Dalton collided soon after the start. Dr. Paulina and Mrs. Jawa collided approaching the first turn. Cersei, Dr. Paulina, Mrs. Jawa and Brindle Ninja collided on the first turn checking Cersei, Mrs. Jawa, Brindle Ninja and Gee Dalton. Mrs. Jawa and Gee Dalton collided on the first turn. Dr. Paulina checked off Zipping Brandy entering the home straight. Porscha's Girl and Zipping Brandy collided several times entering the home straight to approaching the winning post checking both greyhounds.
Zipping Brandy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Mrs S. Northway, the trainer of Zipping Brandy regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.
A post-race sample was taken from No Passengers - winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Mr G. Orr after he negligently retrieved the incorrect greyhound from this event. Stewards noted Mr. Orr's explanation and charged him pursuant to GAR 86 (o). Mr. Orr declined to enter a plea. Stewards found Mr. Orr guilty and fined him $100.00. In assessing penalty Stewards took into consideration that Mr. Orr has been a licenced Trainer for several years with no prior convictions.
Stewards spoke to Kennel Attendant Mrs R. Lott after she allowed the incorrect dog to be retrieved from this event. Stewards issued Mrs Lott with a severe reprimanded and reminded her in future to be more diligent. This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration.
