Steward's Report

Mr. P. Brown, trainer of Countess Carlow declared a new weight of 27.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Countess carlow last raced at 28.8kg.

Atomic Kitten was a late scratching at16:34 due to the greyhound being on season(GAR 24).A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Mega Moo and Beers On Us were slow to begin. Mega Moo, Beers On Us and Gold Crusher collided on the first turn checking Beers On Us. Countess Carlow and Gold Crusher collided entering the back straight. Mega Moo and Countess Carlow collided several times on the second turn. Countess Carlow raced wide entering the home straight. Summertron eased in the home straight. Countess Carlow and Beers On Us collided approaching the winning post.

Summertron was vetted and re-vetted following the race 7. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Hetherton, the trainer of the greyhound Summerton regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Summerton with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Hetherton pleaded guilty to the charge, Summerton was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
