Gunna Be Hoping, Tiara Jo and Pyranees Classic collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn causing Gunna Be Hoping to lose ground.  Pyranees Classic and Manila Mist collided on the home turn checking Manila Mist.

Gunna Be Hoping was vetted  and re-vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

J. Mangion, trainer of Gunna Be Hoping, subsequently advised Stewards that the greyhound appeared to have pulled up well following the event, however he would seek veterinary advice in the following days. Stewards requested that Mr. Mangion advise them of the outcome of any subsequent veterinary examination.

Winlock Holmes was vetted and re-vetted following the race 7. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hip injury. A stand down period of 14 days was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr. S. Stefanos, the trainer of Winlock Homes regarding the greyhound’s racing manners soon after the start.

Manila Mist was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Mr. P. Brown, trainer of Countess Carlow declared a new weight of 27.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Countess carlow last raced at 28.8kg.

Atomic Kitten was a late scratching at16:34 due to the greyhound being on season(GAR 24).A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Countess Carlow and Gold Crusher collided entering the back straight. Mega Moo and Countess Carlow collided several times on the second turn. Countess Carlow raced wide entering the home straight. Summertron eased in the home straight. Countess Carlow and Beers On Us collided approaching the winning post.

Summertron was vetted and re-vetted following the race 7. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Hetherton, the trainer of the greyhound Summerton regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Summerton with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Hetherton pleaded guilty to the charge, Summerton was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mr. S. Stefanos, trainer of Winlock Intent declared a new weight of 31.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Winlock Intent last raced at 32.5kg.

Octo Flash and Way Things Are collided soon after the start checking Way Things Are. Artron and Punt Road Girl collided approaching the first turn. Octo Flash, Artron, Punt Road Girl, Winlock Intent and Isla Maye collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Punt Road Girl and Octo Flash. Winlock Intent and Isla Maye collided approaching the home turn. Artron and Punt Road Girl collided on the home turn. Way Things Are and Pharoah's Dream collided and raced wide entering the home straight and in the home straight. Artron marred the running of Winlock Intent approaching the winning post checking Artron.

Artron was vetted following the event. It was reported that greyhound was found to have shin soreness in the left foreleg. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Noy, the trainer of the greyhound Artron regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Artron with marring. Mr. Noy pleaded guilty to the charge, Artron was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Awesome Cruising was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right hind metatarsal and right eye region. No stand down period was imposed.

Johnny Mckenley was a late scratching at 1.26pm due to mechanical breakdown. A 10 Day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will remove the penalty after receiving documentation of the breakdown.

Communique was a late scratching at 2.35pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr T Boehmke was fined the sum of $100.

Scarlett Zulu was very slow to begin (3L). Treble Clef, Alpanda and Dark Tyde collided soon after the start checking Dark Tyde. Dark Tyde brushed the running rail on the first turn. Mr Eyles pleaded guilty to the charge, Kraken Rose was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results - George Regis trialled over the 425mts from box 1, weight 35.2kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.05, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of  5.75L. George Regis was not cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Gibson, the trainer of Raweenie regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Raweenie last raced on 3rd March 2017. Mr. Gibson stated that the greyhound was returning from a left wrist injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Raweenie trialled over the 425mts from box 4, weight 30.1kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.05, the greyhound won by a margin of 4.25L. Raweenie was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (Blinkers Off) -Nareen trialled over the 425mts from box 8, weight 30.4kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.05, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4.25L. Nareen was cleared to race with blinkers off.
