Steward's Report

Crackerjack Cook – Late scratching at 6.48am when Mr. Jordan Cooper reported the greyhound to have diarrhoea (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.

Westside Wizard – Late scratching at 6.50am when Mr. Nick Lecchino reported the greyhound to have vomitting (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.

This event was delayed by one minute due to operational activities.

Pip was quick to begin. Tonka Bale was slow to begin.

Chief Reaper underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. Mark Johnson regarding Chief Reaper’s racing manners turning into the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Chief Reaper was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Johnson pleaded guilty to the charge. Chief Reaper was found guilty and suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post-race urine sample was taken from Pip - the winner of the event.
