Woodleigh Bond was slow to begin. Cool As Hell and Barra Johnson collided soon after the start. Kyla's Cruiser, Ninetymile Lucky and Lola Allen collided approaching the first turn checking Kyla's Cruiser and Ninetymile Lucky. Paddy's Cripp and Make It Happen collided on the first turn severely checking Make It Happen. Kyla's Cruiser checked off Make It Happen approaching the home turn.
Stewards noted that the muzzle of Kyla's Cruiser became dislodged during the running of the event.
