This race was delayed approximately 3 minutes due to a delay in the kennelling process.
Phil Miwolet was quick to begin. Gaelic Rose and Bald Baron were slow to begin. Hot Blooded and Abit Late collided soon after the start. Melina's Pick crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Tabouli, severely checking Melina's Pick and Hot Blooded, Gaelic Rose fell as a result. Phil Miwolet and Bald Baron collided on the first turn. Bald Baron eased approaching the home turn checking Phil Miwolet. Hot Blooded checked off Melina's Pick approaching the home turn. Bald Baron marred Quick Blitz in the home straight checking Quick Blitz.. Abit Late and Melina's Pick collided approaching the winning post.
Gaelic Rose was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found, but the greyhound showed symptoms of mild thumps.

Stewards spoke to G. Jose the handler of the greyhound Bald Baron. Acting under GAR 69(1)(b) stewards charged Bald Baron with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
