Hooded Assassin, Magic Trance and Midnight Peak were slow out. Collide crossed to the rails soon after the start. Hooded Assassin, Magic Trance and Black Lee collided soon after the start. Pacific Sky and Panicked collided approaching the first turn. Hooded Assassin and Panicked collided on the first turn severely checking Hooded Assassin. Pacific Sky, Black Lee, Voluptuous Vixen and Midnight Peak collided on the first turn checking Black Lee and Voluptuous Vixen. Panicked checked off the heels of Voluptuous Vixen on the second turn. Pacific Sky raced wide in the back straight. Magic Trance eased on the home turn. Magic Trance was vetted following the Event and Dr. Narelle Cribb, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the left back muscle and hamstring. Acting on a recommendation from Dr. Cribb, the Stewards will stand Magic Trance down from competing for 3 days. Stewards charged Magic Trance in contravention of GAR96(2) for failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. After taking evidence from Handler, George Dailly (representing Trainer - Andrea Dailly) and taking into account the injuries sustained to the greyhound, the Stewards invoked GAR98(1)(d) in lieu of GAR96(2) and have directed the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will again be accepted.
