Steward's Report
Ducal Princess and Vivacious Vixen were slow out. Helavon Flo and Crazy Fantasy collided soon after the start checking Crazy Fantasy. Virginia Allen, Vivacious Vixen and Can Tango collided soon after the start checking Vivacious Vixen. Can Tango checked off the heels of Virginia Allen on the first turn and raced wide. Helavon Flo checked off the heels of Vegout Lass on the second turn checking Virginia Allen. Helavon Flo and Virginia Allen collided in the back straight. Can Tango checked off the heels of Crazy Fantasy on the third turn checking Ducal Princess.
Virginia Allen was vetted following the Event and Dr. Narelle Cribb, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the right hind foot. Acting on a recommendation from Dr. Cribb, the Stewards will stand Virginia Allen down from competing for 3 days.
Swab samples were taken from placegetters - Maureen Shirly (1st) and Vegout Lass (2nd).
Following the running of the Event, Horizon Star (weight 30.6kgs) trialled over 515 metres starting from Box 3. The sectional times recorded by the Judge were as follows: 5.32: 19.34: 30.21.
