This event was delayed for several minutes when the boxes failed to open at first attempt; after the starter Mr. A. Shaw inadvertently activated the manual box lever, resulting in the boxes failing to activate. All greyhounds were revetted at the boxes and passed fit to run. Mr. Shaw was spoken to regarding the matter and reminded of his responsibilities to ensure that he follows the correct starting procedure in the future. Cooboo and Manetti Bale were slow out. Side By Side, Walter Bale and Domain Prince collided soon after the start checking Walter Bale. Gloming crossed to the outside soon after the start checking Manetti Bale. Cooboo and Side By Side collided at the 275mtr mark. Blackalls Boss crossed to the rails at the 250mtr mark checking Domain Prince and Side By Side. Walter Bale checked off Cooboo at the 150mtr mark. Gloming crossed to the rails approaching the winning post checking Blackalls Boss. Zealous was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right digital flexor and right quadriceps, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. This event was hand timed at 16.61 due to a malfunction of the timing mechanism.
