Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Tinker Fran on 22 November 2022 pursuant to GAR 139.
Spanish Miss, Riccarton Rick, Tinker Fran and Chic were quick to begin.
Riccarton Rick faltered turning off the back straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a fractured right hock. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track off the back straight, and deemed it satisfactory for racing.
Stewards opened and adjourned an inquiry with Trainer Mr. Adam Helleren regarding conduct behind the boxes during the running of the event. Update 29.11.2022: Stewards finalised an inquiry into Mr. Helleren's conduct behind the boxes during the running of race 11. Stewards issued a charge under GAR165(a) to Mr. Helleren for engaging in conduct that was detrimental and/or prejudicial to the image and/or intererst of greyhound racing. Stewards took into consideration Mr. Helleren's conduct, disciplinary history, their own observations, general and specific deterrence. Mr. Helleren was subsequently fined $250, wholly suspended for 12 months pending no further breaches of a similar rule.
