Steward's Report
Whiskey Splash, Lakeview April and Sandy Bale were quick to begin. Booker Knowledge was slow to begin.
Whiskey Splash lost ground in the home straight and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Ms Loren Dalziel regarding the performance in the home straight. In accordance with GAR 122, the Stewards requested Ms Dalziel to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Whiskey Splash in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
Boy Called Zoo visibly eased in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have left hind abrasion. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Debra Cumes regarding Boy Called Zoo’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Boy Called Zoo was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Cumes pled guilty to the charge, Boy Called Zoo was suspended for 28 days at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
