Stewards noted Mr C Dyett, handler of Betty's Return had difficulty removing the greyhound's collar prior to boxing the greyhound which caused a slight delay.

Riverdale Brandy and Classic Spud collided soon after the start.  Riverdale Brandy and River Dawn collided approaching the first turn.  Riverdale Brandy checked off Classic Spud approaching the first turn.  Indi Octane faltered on the first turn and tailed off. Indi Octane was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right back muscle, a 28 stand down period was imposed.

Riverdale Cowboy was slow to begin.  Tee Murphy, Dominique, Floyd and Waranga Jet collided soon after the start.  No Cash Ear checked off Floyd on the first turn.  Nurse Akali, Dominique, Tee Murphy and Lara's Quest collided on the first turn severely checking Tee Murphy.  No Cash Ear and Tee Murphy collided approaching the home turn checking No Cash Ear.

Five Am Riser was slow to begin.  Speedway Stuey, Special Touch and Prince Euphoria collided soon after the start.  Five Am Riser and Midnight Marvel collided approaching the first turn checking Midnight Marvel.  Five Am Riser checked off Painful on the first turn checking Five Am Riser, Midnight Marvel, Speedway Stuey and Special Touch.  Prince Euphoria, Five Am Riser and Special Touch collided approaching the home turn severely checking Five Am Riser.  Special Touch checked off Prince Euphoria on the home turn.  Speedway Stuey raced wide in the home straight.

Viper Venom was slow to begin.  Reynard's King and Storm A Lite collided approaching the first turn.  Woodland Jack and Reynard's King collided approaching the first turn.  Iron Brian and Viper Venom collided on the first turn checking Viper Venom.  Iron Brian and Gates Of Steel collided approaching the home turn.  Iron Brian checked off Gates Of Steel in the home straight. 

My Misty Galo was slow to begin.  Riverdale Sunny was very slow to begin (2 1/2 lengths).  Erica Black and Brinny Stress collided on the first turn checking Brinny Stress, Super Inferno, Crispy and My Misty Galo.  Crispy checked off My Misty Galo approaching the home turn.  Riverdale Sunny checked off Brinny Stress approaching the home turn checking Super Inferno. 

Catch On was slow to begin.  Black Fleet checked off Chimney Sweep on the first turn checking Black Fleet which collided with Swooped and lost ground as a result.  Chimney Sweep and Murradoc Whiz collided on the first turn.  Black Fleet checked off Swooped approaching the home turn.  Chimney Sweep galloped on the heels of Murradoc Whiz entering the home straight.  Chimney Sweep and Shore Train collided in the home straight.

Claretown Milo and Windmill Queen were slow to begin.  Bortolotto and Vel Belena collided on the first turn checking Vel Belena and Absolute Leeder.  Dual Effort and Claretown Milo collided entering the home straight.  Vel Belena and Claretown Milo collided in the home straight.

Lightning Tess was a late scratching at 7.21pm by order of the Stewards.
