Irish Hope was quick to begin. Aston Grange and Harley Bale were slow to begin.

Jackie Boy and Misty Rainbow collided soon after the start checking Misty Rainbow. Rocky Horror checked off Irish Hope on the first turn. Rocky Horror galloped on Aston Grange approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Misty Rainbow galloped on Jackie Boy approaching the home turn checking Misty Rainbow, Jackie Boy and Harley Bale.

Jackie Boy underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
