Steward's Report
Southwood Juma was slow to begin. Vapour Street, Koko Kola and Gave Surf Away collided approaching the first turn checking Gave Surf Away. Gave Surf Away and Southwood Juma collided on the first turn. Koko Kola checked off Kesh approaching the home turn checking Vapour Street and Southwood Juma. Trish The Dish checked off Explosive Dolly approaching the home turn. Gave Surf Away checked off Koko Kola in the home straight. Gave Surf Away and Vapour Street collided approaching the winning post.
Stewards today completed an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the greyhound, Mr. Fidget being left in the kennels at the conclusion of the Warrnambool meeting on Wednesday 27th February 2013. Stewards took evidence from Mr. M. Gibbons, the representative of the greyhound. After hearing a submission from Mr. Gibbons stewards found him in breach of GAR 86(o) in that he negligently failed to retrieve the greyhound from the kennels prior to leaving the course. In assessing penalty, stewards took into account Mr. Gibbons guilty plea, his remorse over the incident and his good record in respect to similar offences and accordingly imposed a fine of $100.00.
