Brother Griff was quick to begin.
Habib and Layback Cruiser collided soon after the start, checking Habib. Kroos checked off Eight Ball approching the first turn. Eight Ball, Say Hi, Brother Griff and Layback Cruiser collided on the first turn, checking Eight Ball, Say Hi and Habib and severely checking Brother Griff and Kroos. Say Hi and Habib collided several times in the home straight.
Brother Griff underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hind leg. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
