Aston Adonis, Perfect Product, Voltage Spike and King Gristle collided soon after the start. King Gristle, Aston Resort and High Action collided approaching the first turn. Voltage Spike, Aston Adonis and Aston Resort collided on the first turn. Voltage Spike, Aston Adonis, High Action and Perfect Product collided on the first turn, severely checking High Action and causing Perfect Product to fall. Aston Resort checked off King Gristle approaching the home turn. Aston Adonis checked off King Gristle on the home turn.
A post-race blood sample was taken from Aussie Built - the winner of the event.
Perfect Product underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the right hind foot - no stand down period was imposed.
