Steward's Report
Naomi Butterfly and Quinnley Bale were quick to begin. Gyarados was slow to begin.
Naomi Butterfly galloped on the heels of Quinnley Bale on the first turn, checking Quinnley Bale. Combined Six, Johnny Disco and Irish Hope shifted out and raced wide on the home turn. Quinnley Bale checked off Naomi Butterfly entering the home straight. Quinnley Bale turned its head inwards on the home straight.
A post-race sample was taken from Johnny Disco - the winner of the event.
Quinnley Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left wrist, a five day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr D. Gibbons regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Quinnley Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Gibbons pleaded not guilty to the charge, Quinnley Bale was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
